Smart on-site operation via mobile Tablet-PCs offers both technical and economic benefits over fixed operating panels installed on a control cabinet. Despite high investment costs, a permanently installed operating panel on a control cabinet remains unused for at least 90% of its service life.
A Tablet-PC can be used for a wide range of purposes as well as take over the function of a permanently installed operating panel if on-site operation is required. Convenient and reliable system identification is established via an operating switch on the control cabinet. When the control switch is performed, the operating screen assigned to the plant opens automatically on the tablet. Thanks to the encrypted and switchable WLAN connection between the automation level and the tablet the convenience of wireless operation is ensured.
